1973 Roe v. Wade Oral Argument on Personhood - US Supreme Ct.

In 1973 the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments infavor of abortion on demand. Listen as several of the Justices point out that the Personhood of the fetus is at the center of the debate.

“In the Roe v. Wade decision, Justice Harry Blackmun wrote that, ‘(If the) suggestion of personhood [of the preborn] is established, the [abortion rights] case, of course, collapses, for the fetus’ right to life is then guaranteed specifically by the [14th] Amendment.’”
